Fern E. Roberson, 88, of Fairview, Texas, died Jan. 25.

Fern was born Aug. 29, 1925, to Farris Whited and Lillie Mae (Kendrick) Whited in Ash Flat, Ark. Fern accepted Christ at age 11 and was baptized at age 17 in Pawhuska. She attended Bartlesville Business College. She and Gene Roberson were married on May 5, 1946, in Pawhuska. Fern worked as a secretary for Amoco Corporation in Tulsa from 1951-1987. She was a member of Brookside Baptist Church, where she taught third grade, Gracemont Baptist Church and Woodland Acres Baptist Church, all in Tulsa, where she served in various capacities.

Fern is survived by her brothers, Prentiss Whited of Pratt, Kan., Farris Whited Jr. and wife, Jean, of Van Buren, Ark., Frank Whited of Pawhuska, Jerrel Whited and wife Lee, of Walla Walla, Wash.; sister, Jeanie Whited Curtis and Don, of Fairview, Texas; sister-in-laws, Mary Whited, of Hominy, and Lydia Whited, of Prue; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Roberson; brothers, Clifford Whited of Pawhuska, Kenneth Whited of Hominy and Leon Whited of Wellington, Kan.
