Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at the Calvary Baptist Church of Pawhuska with the Rev. Artie Hudson officiating. McCartney’s Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian Welch; his daughter, Sherry Welch; and one sister, Doris Jean Smith, and brother-in-law, Delbert Smith; three granddaughters, Kristyn Welch, Kymberlea (Welch) Smith and Billye Jean Parrish; six great grandchildren, Alexus Wilson, Cameron, Colten and Haelee Ann Smith; Anika and Ava Lynn Sutherland; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Gwendolyn Sue Thompson.

Charles was born in Pawhuska on Sept. 3, 1936, to Floyd and Vida Welch. On June 8, 1956, he married the former Vivian Hill in Barnsdall.

Charles took over the family business (Welch and Son) while in the ninth grade. Later on, he and his wife also owned Welch Oil Properties. For nine years, Charles served in the Army National Guard, 45th Division. He loved to fish, but his greatest joy was his family.

Rest in peace, Daddy, and know that your family will miss you, but we also know you are in a much better place. We love you!
