Bobbie Jean (Walker) Tyng, 80, of Pawhuska, died at 5:10 a.m. Jan. 29.

Funeral services were held Jan. 31 at McCartney’s Johnson Funeral Home with Chaplain Mark Bright officiating. Interment was in the Pawhuska City Cemetery under the direction of McCartney’s Johnson Funeral Home.

Bobbie was born Dec. 21, 1933, in Dill City to Robert and Oma Walker. She married Edward W. Tyng on Dec. 1, 1961 in Victorville, Calif. She and her family moved to Pawhuska in 1978. Bobbie and her late husband, Edward, were always giving of their time and charity back to the people of Pawhuska. One of Bobbie’s greatest joys was spending time with her family. She enjoyed her card games with her sisters, barbecues at the lake and gardening. She will be missed by many.

Many thanks must be given to those who helped support and care for Bobbie. Rivercross Hospice and their staff have been amazing help and support for the family. They have truly been a blessing. A special thank you to Karen Milleson for her love and support for many years to Bobbie and her family.

Surviving family includes two sons, Edward C. Tyng and Gary Hastings of Pawhuska; four daughters, Dreama Tyng of Pawhuska, Dawn Miller of Barnsdall, Lisa Strickland of Oswego, Kan., and Diane Napier of Ponca City; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Bobbie was preceded in death by one son, Norman Hastings; grandson Charlie Gibson; her husband, Edward Tyng; brothers, John and Gene Walker; and sisters, Thelma Vargas, Etta Gates and Helen Ponder.
