We need everyone’s help researching the bills currently in rotation at the Capitol. There are several that will affect our children’s education! Contact our state representative, Eddie Fields, to inform him how our schools and children will be impacted.

Basketball is over; softball and baseball has now begun. We are very excited to have a junior high baseball team this year. It has been several years since we have had a team. They will be having a bake sale at the smoke shop in Pawhuska on Friday, March 4, from noon until 6 p.m. Please, go buy some goodies to help support our team in purchasing equipment and uniforms.

Tri County Tech will be visiting our sophomores on Monday, March 7. On Wednesday, March 9, some of the high school students will be attending an ACT prep class in Tonkawa. Third- through 12th-grade students will attend a Blues game in Oklahoma City on Thursday, March 10.

There will be no school March 11-18. Enjoy spring break!

ADDRESSES SOUGHT

The Wynona Alumni committee needs current addresses of former students for send out Reunion invitations. If anyone knows of alumni who haven’t been receiving the letters, please contact Linda Ware, Melissa Funkhouser, Vicki Prater, Beulah Moutray and Stetson Gross.

TEAMS RAISING FUNDS

Wynona re-organized baseball and softball teams have been trying to raise money to purchasing equipment. The first fundraiser was a slave auction, held Feb 26 at the elementary ball game.

On Friday, March 4, the boys’ baseball team will be sponsoring a bake sale at Osage Trading Smoke Shop on Highway 99, near Pawhuska. The sale will go from noon to 6 p.m., or until they’re sold out. Anyone who would like to may donate items such as brownies, cupcakes, cookies, cakes, pies, homemade salsa, homemade laundry soap, homemade cleaning supplies, Easter baskets, etc. The Easter Bunny will be there, so bring the kids!

The baseball/softball teams will be having a garage sale on Friday and Saturday, April 1-2. They are taking donations from now until the sale. You could use a player you bought at the slave auction to help clean out sheds, etc., of household items that you would like to get rid of. (Make sure donated clothing is in good condition.) For further information, or to make a donation, call/text Chris at 580-789-1671 or Troy at 580-670-0364. You also can leave a message at 918-505-7812.

Please, spread the word about helping out these ballplayers!
