Wow, it is hard to believe there is only a week left of January. We are beginning the fourth week of the third quarter. Progress reports and parent/teacher conferences will be 4-7 p.m. Feb. 5 and Feb. 7. Conferences times will be sent home next week. It is important for you to make your scheduled conference time to discuss your child’s educational performance.
Your child and their education are very important. Please remember to make it a habit to discuss with your child what they are learning at school, practice reading and math skills, review homework, review graded work or notes teachers send home, and make sure they are at school everyday and on time. If parents/guardians make education an important issue, then students will as well. Remind your child if they miss school to collect the missed work and return it the following day. State testing is coming upon us quickly.
The elementary basketball season is officially over. They did an awesome job, and we are also proud of Ms. Maker for her offering to coach the team. This was her first time to coach.
From 4-7 p.m. Thursday is the open house at Tri County Technology Center in Bartlesville. If your child is a junior or senior and plans on applying for next school year, this is a great opportunity for them to receive bonus points on their application. They must visit the programs they are interested in attending and sign in.
At 12:15 p.m. Friday is the end of the month assembly in the new gym. We will recognize Students of the Month, January birthdays and students who have reached their Reading Counts and Math Facts points.
The junior class is doing a fundraiser all week and during the assembly this month. Cans with teachers’ faces posted to them will be available all week for students to vote with money. On Friday the can/teacher with the most money will be taped to the wall during the assembly. We are excited to see who the lucky teacher/staff gets to be taped to the wall. As always, everyone is invited to attend the assembly.
Seniors were given a scholarship form to complete presented by “Oklahoma School Insurance Group” last week. The deadline to turn the form in to Mrs. Shulanberger is Friday, Feb. 1. Please remind your senior student to complete it and return it in on time.
