A two-vehicle collision shortly before 2 p.m. Friday on State Highway 18, about four-tenths of a mile north of Fairfax, resulted in the death of a 64-year-old male passenger riding in a 2007 Pontiac G6, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
According to the OHP, a passenger identified as Jeffery Crane Lunsford died at the accident scene of “massive injuries.” The driver of the Pontiac and another passenger were transported by Life Flight Air EMS to St. John Hospital in Tulsa, where they were admitted in stable condition with “whole body injuries,” the OHP said.
The driver of the second vehicle, which was a Mack tanker truck without a trailer, was not injured, the OHP said. The driver of the truck had no passengers.
An OHP report noted that the cause of the accident remained under investigation. The drivers of the two vehicles were wearing seat belts, the OHP said. The passengers in the Pontiac were not wearing seat belts, the highway patrol said.
