The Delaware County Commissioners approved several appointments on Monday, Jan. 8, for the 2018 calendar year.

David Poindexter (interim District 1) was appointed to the Circuit Engineering District board, while Commission Chairman Russell Martin (District 2) was appointed to the Health Department board and the Northeast Workforce Development board.

County Clerk Barbara Barnes and Poindexter were also appointed to the Grand Gateway board. 

The commissioners also approved the designation of Martin and Barnes as requisitioning officers, Vicki Kirby and Shannon Sergeant as receiving officers and Kathy Parker as inventory officer of the general government accounts.

In financial business, the commissioners approved a blanket purchase order for $750 per month to Stevenson’s LP Gas, per the West Siloam Springs Fire Department. Also approved was to transfer $1.38 million from the county general account to nine sub accounts.

The commissioners also approved refunding a $1,000 utility permit fee to Chad Strong of Strong Builders for competed and inspected road cut in District No. 1. 

The board awarded a lone bid to Bingham and Gravel out of Baxter Spring, Kan. for salt materials. The bid is per ton and breaks down as follows:

The next meeting is 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16 at the Delaware County Courthouse in the Commissioners’ Public Meeting room.
