An 81-year-old man and a 7-year-old girl were among those involved in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday in Osage County.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports, the accident occurred at around 7:57 a.m. on U.S. 60, just east of Big Snake Road, which is located 1.1 miles east Ponca City in Osage County.

A 2011 Ford Edge driven by 29-year-old Whitney Erin Roberts, of Ponca City, was eastbound on US 60 and reportedly made a left turn in front of a 2007 Ford Focus, driven by 81-year-old Dean Bigge also of Ponca City. The Focus hit Roberts’ car.

Troopers said Bigge was pinned in his vehicle for approximately 30 minutes before being freed by Ponca City Fire Department.

He was then transported by Ponca City ambulance to Alliance Health in Ponca City where he was admitted in good condition with trunk internal injuries.

Roberts and her one passenger, a 7-year-old female, both refused treatment at the scene.

Troopers listed the condition of the drivers at the time of the accident as “apparently normal” and the cause of the collision as “failure to yield.”
