Congratulations to fifth grade student, Ms. Liana St. John! She is the only student who had perfect attendance for the first semester at Wynona Public Schools. She was awarded an incentive check of $25. We are proud of you!
Way to go students and teachers! The state testing is almost complete in the elementary and will begin next week for the high school. We appreciate the wonderful volunteers who have come into our buildings to help monitor the state tests! Our teachers have worked hard to make the testing work as smoothly as possible — either in giving the tests or keeping non-testing students quiet during the tests.
Prom is tomorrow night! We hope to have a fun and safe prom because Ms. Ervin has worked to arrange for our bus to take our students and their guests by bus to Owasso at the Old Central Building for dancing and food and then end the evening with bowling. What a fun plan. Way to go Ms. Ervin and helpers!
Remember, there is no school on Friday, April 26. These are snow days that we did not have to use. We have only four weeks of school left in this school year. A field trip to Woolaroc is scheduled on May 2, for 2nd, 3rd, and 6th grades. A field trip to the Tulsa zoo is scheduled for May 6, for PreK,K, 1st, 4th and 5th grades. The 8th grade class has a field trip to Frontier City on May 3. Parental help is always appreciated on these trips. We have parents who are willing to support our students and we are very grateful! The elementary science fair is scheduled for May 9. Kindergarten graduation and Tri County Tech graduation are scheduled for May 14. The last day of school and high school graduation is May 17.
If you have questions about any of these events, please call the office at 918-846-2467.

WYNONA FOUNDERS DAY
The next Wynona Founders Day planning meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 7 at 7 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to attend and make plans for a fun filled Founders Day Saturday, June 8.
We also need for lots of businesses and individuals to plan on having a float in the parade. We are having an auction and taking donations for good usable merchandise. We are planning on having two bands, one from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. and Country Express Band will play from 9 pm until 1 am. There will be an awesome concession stand all day and night. We plan on a flea market and encourage everyone to come out and be a part of the flea market. We also are getting some pretty big boasting from Grillmasters, challenging people to come out and try to outcook them. It will be a fun and exciting day with so much fun packed in, everyone should be involved.
People should also be planning and making their box cars if they are going to be in the races. The kids games will be earlier in the day than in the past to keep the turtles fresh and at their running best! The lunch will be provided once again by the famous Wild Country Meats in Hominy. A hot dog eating contest is also in the plans.
