OKLAHOMA CITY — Heritage Hall starter Chandler Shapard permitted two hits and one run Monday in handing Tecumseh a 5-1 defeat.

Shapard, who threw the first six innings, registered nine strikeouts and walked three.

Colby Lewis retired Tecumseh in order in the seventh.

Tecumseh’s run came in the top of the first inning when Kullen Meadows scored on Tristin Anthony’s groundout.

Meadows and Gage Boatman had Tecumseh’s two hits..

Heritage Hall’s Max Hardberger, who broke a 1-1 tie with a single in the fourth, also drove in a run with a triple. Carson Orton and Blake Adams had a double apiece.

Tyler Thompson, Tecumseh’s starter, was touched for seven hits and five runs (three earned) in 5 1/3 innings. Thompson walked one and struck out one.

Byron Thompson retired two batters and gave up one hit in a relief appearance.

Heritage Hall is 19-6.

Tecumseh, 15-14, will entertain Heritage Hall at 5 p.m. today. Tecumseh will also be home Thursday versus Bristow (5 p.m.), then oppose Cushing at 5 p.m. Friday in Cushing.
