BETHANY—The Tecumseh Savages scored five runs in the fifth inning to defeat the Bethany Broncos 8-6 on Friday.

Bethany grabbed an early 4-0 lead after the first, but Tecumseh fought back to plate three runs in the second. Bethany extended the lead to 5-3 after four innings, setting up Tecumseh's monster fifth inning.

Tecumseh pounded out 11 hits for their eight runs and took advantage of five walks given up by the Bethany pitchers. Andrew Lewis came on in relief in the first inning and earned the win for Tecumseh.

Gage Boatman went 2-for-3 for Tecumseh and Byron Thompson was 2-for-4 and drove in two Savage base runners. Kullen Meadows, Kane Ainsworth and Tyler Thompson each added an RBI.

Tecumseh improves to 14-13 with the win.
