WELCH — Welch opened its slow-pitch softball season with a sweep of Fairland and Ketchum here on Tuesday, March 6.
The Lady Wildcats rolled to a 9-3 win against Ketchum then got two runs in the bottom of the fourth to claim a 5-3 win against Fairland.
Fairland rolled to an 11-4 win against Ketchum in the third game of the day.

Ketchum got all three of its runs in the top of the second inning.
Welch tied the game in the fifth and took charge in the sixth with a six-run rally.
Olivia Pitcher collected two doubles and a single while winning pitcher Madisen Horton and Olivia Chenoweth each had three singles.
Brennae Perkins delivered a double and triple, Ashlee Morgan and Alex Arnold had a double each and Taylor Foust singled.
Ketchum had 10 hits, including two doubles.

A sacrifice fly by Jessie Pitcher and a Chenoweth single drove in the go-ahead and insurance runs for the Lady Wildcats.
Singles by Perkins and Madison Gilman and an error on a ball hit by Emily Piercefield had loaded the bases for Welch.
The Lady Wildcats jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first inning only to have Fairland tie the score in the top of the third.
Ashton Mowery drove in a run with a sacrifice fly and Lilly Triplett delivered an RBI single for the Lady Owls.
Olivia Pitcher had a solo homer in the first and a single and Chenoweth delivered two singles.
Morgan, Maddi Schaper, Arnold, Perkins, Gilman, Foust and Jessie Pitcher all had singles.
Fairland outhit Welch 15-11.
Kyndall Davis and Chelsey Dushane had three singles while Mowery, Triplett and Kaylee Schumaker all had a double and single.
Tori Barker doubled and Nikki Dingle and Alexia McGranahan added singles.
The Lady Wildcats hosted Salina Thursday, March 7 then travel to South Coffeyville on Friday, March 8.
Fairland hosted Afton on Thursday and entertains Salina on Monday, March 12.
