The Pawhuska Lady Huskies have a rematch with Dale at 1:30 p.m. Monday to determine if their season ends or they advance to area in the Class 2A basketball tournament. Pawhuska will play Dale at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Rejoice Christian School in Owasso. The winner advances to area play, while the season is over for the loser. The Lady Huskies lost to Dale in the district championship game on Feb. 17. The final score was Dale 62, Pawhuska 21 in that game. Dale was ranked No. 3 in Class 2A before the tournament started. Dale advanced to the regional title game with a 57-25 win over Chelsea Friday night. ^ Pawhuska 39, Hulbert 38 Pawhuska’s girls basketball team needed every point Saturday night as it squeaked by Hulbert, 39-38, in the second round of Class 2A regionals. The Lady Huskies trailed 13-12 at halftime, but used a 16-point third quarter to build a 28-20 advantage. However, Hulbert made it close by outscoring Pawhuska 18-11 in the final frame. Star Sweeden led the Lady Huskies scoring with 9 points. Kyleigh Riebel tossed in 7 and Alyssa Reynolds and Rayven Stone chipped in 6 each. Sierra Sellers and Kaiti Moen added 4 apiece. Shelby Laird scored 2 and Tatianna Curry added 1. Hulbert’s Baylee Hall lead all scorers with 13. Lexi Rowan added 9 and Katy Medlin added 5. ^ Pawhuska 37, Hominy 27 In the opening round of the tournament, Pawhuska used an explosive first quarter to take an 18-6 lead, and eventually defeated the Hominy Lady Bucks, 37-27. Hominy rallied in the second to make the score 25-17 at the half. The team’s played evenly in the final two stanzas. Pawhuska scored 12 and Hominy 10 in the final two frames. Riebel led the Lady Huskies with 9 points. Sweeden added 8 and Sellers chipped in 5. Moen scored 5 points. Reynolds, Arianna Soliano and Curry rounded out the scoring with 4, 3, and 2 points, respectively. Chastity Walker led all scores with 11 points for the Lady Bucks. Kennedy Crawford chipped in 5, while Kailey Albright added 4.
