TECUMSEH — Senior Zathan Bowman connected on five 3-point field goals, all in the first half, as Tecumseh riddled Little Axe 85-53 Tuesday night.

Bowman, the game’s leading scorer with 21 points, was joined in the scoring department by 12 teammates, including Anthony Billy with 14. Billy had two first-half 3-pointers as the Savages raced out to a 52-24 lead.

Jacob Green chipped in with nine points, including two 3-pointers. Jayden Shafer had two first-half treys.

“We played about as good a first quarter (27-5) as you could play,” Tecumseh coach Eric Litherland said. “We shot the ball well and forced some turnovers.”

Tecumseh went 13 of 27 (48.1 percent) from 3-point range while improving its record to 8-5. Litherland’s troops were 19 of 24 from the 2-point area.

Tecumseh will entertain Mt. St. Mary’s, ranked third in 3A, Tuesday night. The Savages will launch the Jones Tournament at 2:20 Thursday opposite Perkins.


Behind a 23-point outing from Courtney Mansell, Tecumseh blasted Little Axe 70-44.

Mansell was accurate on five shots from beyond the 3-point line as Tecumseh improved its record to 3-9.

“Courtney really shot the ball well,” Tecumseh coach Matt Thornton said.

Kilee Jones notched 11 points for the victors. Taylor Walker added 12.

Tecumseh led 18-3 after the first quarter and 29-12 by the half.
