HENRYETTA — Tulsa Metro Christian knocked down 11 field goals from 3-point range in defeating Meeker’s girls 57-33 Saturday in the consolation championship of the Henryetta Invitational.
Ashley VanSchuyver topped Meeker with 16 points and Lexi Lopez added 10 as the Lady Bulldogs fell to 5-6. Lopez had one 3-point field goal.
Meeker missed numerous close-range shots from the field in dropping to 5-6.
Metro Christian outscored Meeker in every quarter.
The Bulldogs also came up shot in their bid for a consolation crown as Poteau rolled to a 70-47 decision.
Nine Poteau players scored, led by Kyson Hardaway with 23. Hardaway notched five of Poteau’s seven 3-point field goals.
Meeker trailed just 39-32 at the intermission but was outscored 19-6 in the third quarter.
Justis Nelson of Meeker netted 12 of his team-high 17 points in the first half.
Josh Whitfield, Dylan Thomas and Joe Coker posted eight points apiece for the Bulldogs.
Poteau was 80 percent (16 of 20) from the charity stripe as Hardaway went 6 of 6.
Meeker will entertain Chandler Tuesday night.
