To the Citizens of Pawhuska, Oklahoma:

2013 Memorial Day is now over and the Pawhuska Cemetery Veteran’s graves were again covered with American flags of all veterans of all wars. These flags represent the great sacrifices of these military men and women who went off to war to preserve the liberty we have today.

American Legion Post 97 is in charge of organizing the placement of these flags on the graves of servicemen and women every Memorial Day by a group of dedicated citizens of Pawhuska who should receive recognition for their dedicated service. The American Legion Post 97, American Legion Post 198, the Kiwanis Club, the Boy Scouts of American and a small group of individuals and families that feel these servicemen and women should be recognized for their sacrifices.

So next Memorial Day, 2014, when you go to the Pawhuska Cemetery and see the cemetery covered with American flags on these Veterans graves, just think about the above dedicated people who made this possible.
