Wilma L. Young passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 in the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Okla. She was 88 years old.

Wilma was born February 16, 1926 in Barnsdall, Okla., the daughter of Andrew and Zadie (Anthony) Grim. On June 13, 1942, she married Somers J. "Jim" Young in Tulsa, Okla. He preceded her in death February 5, 2010.

Retired as an executive secretary for Phillips Petroleum Co., Wilma also worked as a school secretary. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles, and cryptoquotes. She loved to travel, participated with Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Bunko Club. Her grandchildren were the light in her life.

Wilma was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pawhuska.

Survivors include her children, Gary and Maryann Young of Ozark, Mo., Mary Young of Pawhuska, Gloria and Wayne Bute, also of Pawhuska; her grandchildren, Brian and Sharla Young of Claremore, Okla., Jeff and Terri Bute of Pawhuska, Shelley and Andy Young of Ochelata, Okla., Chris and Nicole Young of Springfield, Mo., Marty and Angela Pinney of Collinsville, Okla., and Randy and Mary Ann Pinney of Bartlesville; 19 great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren as well as other family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Jim, Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Terry Young; two sisters and one brother.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to First Baptist Church, 302 E. 6th, Pawhuska, OK 74056.

Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 27, at 1 p.m., at the First Baptist Church of Pawhuska. Rev. Jeff Laughlin will officiate. Interment will follow.
