Vernon Wadsworth passed away on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center, Bartlesville, Okla.

Vernon was the son of Joe Henry Wadsworth and Lou Vernie Reeves. He was born in Pawhuska, Okla. on March 24, 1942. He worked for the State of Oklahoma, Pawhuska Schools and pastored many churches.

At the time of his death, Vernon and Clifford Stroud held services at the nursing home.

Vernon married Juanita Mower on August 22, 1992.

He is survived by his wife Juanita of the home; three daughters, Betty Jean Donnell and husband Ray of Enid, Okla., Alice Brantley and husband Kenneth of Conroe, Texas., and Amy Hamilton of the home; son Tommy Hamilton and Tammy of Pawhuska; sister Rosella Guffey and husband Gerald of Pawhuska; five grandchildren, Darlene, Desiray, Timmy, Jon Jon and Ashley; niece Cindy Willard; and nephew Joe Parker.

Vernon spent the last four years of his life in the Pawhuska Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. He left behind numerous friends and three lifetime friends including Clifford Stroud, Bud Brazee and Tommy Reeves.

There will be a memorial service held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Church of God, 814 E. 9th, Pawhuska. Rev. Pat Hailey will officiate. Dinner will be served following the service.
