Shireld W. Dilley, 86, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the Medicalodge in Dewey, Okla.

Shireld was born Dec. 20, 1928 in Mannford, Okla., the son of William and Vella (Wilson) Dilley. In 1959, he married the former Stella Mae Garrison in Bartlesville, Okla. She preceded him in death Sept. 25, 2000.

Shireld lived all his life in Wynona. While he was gone working on the first Alaskan Pipeline project, Stella was busy establishing and operating Stella’s Drive-In in Wynona. A veteran, Shireld served in the U.S. Army 1946 to 1947. He was a professional truck driver, working for Charlie Wells, Goober Drilling and other companies over the years. After Stella’s passing, his passion was spending time with his two great grandchildren, Ethan and Addison.

Surviving family members include son Rick Dilley; grandchildren Brenda Schueler and husband, Chad, Jennie Mae Dilley, Shelby Hough and husband, Jay, James and John Bookout, Tommy and Roy Thomas; Jim and Candy Lott, J.T. and Ruthie Hough; great grandchildren Ethan Wayne Schueler and Addison Schueler; as well as numerous other great and great-great grandchildren, family members and many friends.

In addition to Stella, Shireld was preceded in death by three daughters, Melba Ray Bookout, Linda Kay Thomas and Brenda Fay Lott; his parents, Bill and Vella Dilley; and numerous siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Assembly of God Church, Wynona, Okla.

Rev. David Downing will officiate. Interment will be in the Pawhuska City Cemetery.
