Vera W. Camargo passed away Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at her home in Pawhuska. She was 86 years old.
Vera was born Nov. 24, 1926 in Sapulpa, Okla., the daughter of Frank and Marie Starns. A graduate of Burbank High School, Vera worked for many years as the secretary at the Pawhuska rock quarry. On May 22, 1949, she married Luis J. Camargo in Fairfax, Okla.. He preceded her in death Dec. 29, 2001.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Vera was a member of the National Rifle Association. In her spare time, liked to paint and rock collecting.
Surviving are, her son David Camargo; grandsons, Matthew Camargo, Phillip Wingfield and Robert Wingfield; and other family and friends.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents her husband, and daughter Sherri Cunningham.
Mass was held Monday, Oct. 7, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Father Chris Daigle officiated. Interment was in the Pawhuska City Cemetery.
McCartney’s Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
