Former Pawhuska resident Edna Joan Corsaut passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 at her home in Skiatook, Okla.
She was 75 years old.
Joan was born June 2, 1938 in Barnsdall, Okla., the daughter of Leo C. and Edna M. (Scott) Townley.
A graduate of Barnsdall High School, she married Billy Ray Corsaut on Nov. 23, 1958 in Pawhuska. He preceded her in death in 2011. Joan worked for many years in the Pawhuska School System as the secretary for Indian Camp School, retiring in 2004. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Joan loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed embroidering and working puzzle books.
Surviving are her daughter Billie McGowan of McCloud, Okla.; and her son Randy Corsaut and wife, Deborah, of Skiatook; her grandchildren Tamara Corsaut-Melendez of Tulsa, Okla., Ray Beets of Pawhuska and Jeromy Bickford of Muskogee, Okla.; three great grandchildren. A sister-in-law Eunice Carifio of Miami, Fla.; an uncle, James Townley, and several cousins and close friends.
In addition to her husband, Joan was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 4, at McCartney’s Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. James Hager officiated. Interment was in the Ethel Reese Cemetery, Barnsdall.
McCartney’s Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
