The Washington-Osage Baptist Association is looking to bring more hope to the people in the area through the creation of HOPE Medical Clinic.
The vision is "To spread the love of Christ to the community by providing quality healthcare and spiritual guidance."
The clinic will minister to the whole person –spirit, soul, and body. All of these areas affect a person’s health and well-being. There will be no discrimination on the basis of race, sex, age, religious denomination, or insurance. The clinic will offer free medical care and pharmaceuticals to those in our area that do not have access to healthcare by normal channels.
HOPE Medical Clinic will be located in the West Oak Baptist Church at 1536 NW Sunset Boulevard, Bartlesville (Oak Park nieghborhood). The clinic will be open the first and third Thursdays of every month at 6:00pm. Appointments may be made starting in September by calling 918-440-7692.
There are other free and discount clinics in our area, but what makes us unique is that HOPE is a faith-based clinic supported only by volunteers and donations so we can freely share the Gospel and love of our Lord Jesus Christ with those who come.
Acute health care needs will be addressed at the beginning, with the potential to expand to other services as needed. All of HOPE Medical Clinic’s providers are volunteers and provide free, compassionate care to those in need.
Services will be limited by the availability and expertise of the volunteers. Referrals to other community services may be made when appropriate.
Free medication and some non-prescription drugs will be available, but no narcotic or sedative medications will be located on the premises or prescribed by the physicians.
The clinic plans to open on Sept. 19. Remodeling for the examination rooms and securing the pharmacy area is underway.
The clinic will need volunteer doctors and nurses, of course, but also chaplains, pharmacists, clerical help, and others to minister directly to the patients and their families. Outside of clinic hours other opportunities involve providing a meal for the volunteers, helping set up or clean up, sorting medications, etc.
Questions may be directed to the Clinic Manager, Robert Wadsworth at 918-440-7692. Donations may be given through the Washington-Osage Baptist Association, 3801 NE Maryland, Bartlesville, OK 74006 designated for HOPE Medical Clinic.
