Judging is underway at the annual Osage County 4-H Junior Livestock Show, which is being held for the first time in the Clarence Brantley Indoor Arena at the Osage County Fairgrounds.

This is the 79th year for the show, which features livestock judging events involving 4-H and FFA members from throughout the county. The nine 4-H clubs in Osage County include Barnsdall, Bowring, Braden, Hominy, Model R/Rock, Blue & Gold, Bluestem, Triple T and Woodland.

After Tuesday’s weigh-in of sheep, goats and hogs, swine competition started at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with Gilt Show, Barrow Show and Swine Showmanship. Heifer check-in is slated later in the day, from 5-7 p.m.

On the schedule for Thursday lists steer weigh-in from 8-9 a.m., with Sheep Show and Showmanship and Goat Show and Showmanship start at 10:30 a.m. Heifer Show is slated for 4 p.m. Steer Show and Beef Showmanship starts at 6 p.m.

The Livestock Judging Contest begins at 9 a.m. Friday. Contestants are to meet at 3 p.m. near the arena concession stand to clean and decorate for the evening events. BBQ-Show Barn is slated to begin at 5 p.m. The Junior Livestock Awards Program is to get started at 6:30 p.m. and be followed by the Auction, which should start around 7 p.m.
