Area runners competed in several cross country events last weekend.
Shawnee ran at the Cottonwood Flats race in Guthrie.
The Wolves took 7th out of 15 teams to compete.
Clifford Littleton took 3rd place overall just 14 seconds behind the winner. Kyle Henry took 20th overall. Andrew Shephard and Jacob Cahall placed 55th and 56th just one step apart.
The Lady Wolves placed 10th out of 12 teams in the event.
Serrenity Rezentes was the top Lady Wolf at 49th. Ella Swantek and Maggie Watkins came in at 54th and 57th.
Seminole's Jamie Stafford won the East Central University Tiger Chase in Ada on Sept. 6. The freshman finished the cross country race in a time of 13:12 seconds.
Tecumseh senior Kayla Magruder came in third, eight seconds behind Stafford.
On Sept. 8, Seminole's cross country teams swept the Henryetta Invitational.
On the boys' side, Richard Bolt dominated the field, winning with a time of 17:20 - more than 22 seconds ahead of the second place finisher from Fort Gibson.
The rest of the Chieftains were all near the top of the pack, finishing in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th place. In 3rd was Michael Tiger followed closely by Daquery Sewell. Darius Sewell and Tanner Hoskinson were right behind their teammates.
Andy Choate and Carson Newton finished at 11th and 13th respectively.
In the girls' race, the Lady Chieftains won with a good team effort. Annabell Hallmark placed 7th, with Rebecca Choate coming in 10th. After that, Alissa Stone, Gabbi Howard, and Cienna Works came in at 12th, 13th and 14th respectively.
