A 26-year-old Bartlesville man is dead following a single-vehicle wreck Monday night west of Bartlesville.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports, Trevor Cochran was pronounced dead at the scene by Bartlesville EMS from head injuries.

According to the report, the accident happened around 9:24 p.m. Monday on County Road 2706, approximately 3.2 miles west of State Highway 123, which is approximately 3.2 miles west of Bartlesville, in Osage County.

At that time a 2000 Honda Civic, driven by Cochran, was “traveling eastbound on CR 2706 and approached a curve to the left.” The report states that the Civic, then “departed the roadway to the right, overcorrected to the left” before going into a broad slide.” The car then departed the roadway to the left and impacted a drainage ditch before rolling a half time and coming to a rest on its top.

Cochran was pinned in the vehicle for about five minutes before he was freed by a passerby and pronounced dead by emergency personnel.

Troopers list both Cochran’s condition at the time of the accident, and the cause of the collision as “under investigation.”
