The Bartlesville Police Department said there have been no arrests in about 30 cases of persons shooting at vehicles — and one person with a BB gun — July 27 and July 28.
“There was one incident involving a person,” BPD Captain Jay Hastings told the Examiner-Enterprise on Tuesday. “She was sitting on her porch in the area of Park street north of Hensley on July 27. Someone shone a flashlight at her and fired some shots at her — hitting her in the face.”
Hastings said the woman suffered non-life threatening injuries in the incident.
“Most of the incidents happened (July 27), and all were downtown or on west Hensley,” Hastings said. “Reports were that three or four people were going around shooting out vehicle windows with a pellet gun. We were still having reports come in yesterday.”
One of the reports came from a car lot near Santa Fe Avenue and Hensley Boulevard that included several vehicles being damaged, Hastings said.
“Someone saw them in one of the cases and followed them home,” Hastings said. “We now have the gun and have identified the people involved— two are juveniles, and the others are adults. The suspects in the case, involving the woman on the porch, fit the same description.”
There is video of at least one of the incidents from a nearby security camera, and authorities are in the process of reviewing the video that was collected on Monday, Hastings said.
“We are working to connect them with all 30 reports,” Hastings said.
If anyone has additional information about the BB gun shootings, vandalism or the assauly, Hastings said to call the Bartlesville Police Deaprtment at 918-338-4001.
