Barbara “Karan” (Reynolds) Javine
Surrounded by loved ones, Karan was called home by her Lord and Savior on Sunday July 22, 2018 in Barndsdall, Oklahoma. She was born on June 24, 1938 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to John Gerald Lindsey and Jewel Bernice “Bennie” (Fulton) Reynolds. She graduated from Barnsdall High School in 1956 and attended Central State Teachers College in Edmond, Oklahoma and Tulsa Jr. College. She married Kemper “Joe” Javine on December 21, 1956. She spent her early married years as her husbands number one fan, a homemaker, and a devoted mother to her two greatest joys, John and Dee Anne. She later worked at Barnsdall Nursing Home as the Activities Director and then retired as a bookkeeper from Siggins Memorial Clinic. In her youth she was a member of the Rainbow Girls. She spent her life serving others, honored to be President of the Ethel Reese Memorial Library, Public Relations Director of the Oklahoma Conference of the United Methodist Women Organization, a member of GFWC Outlook Study Group for over 50 years, a longtime member of Eastern Stars, and volunteering over 4000 hours at Jane Phillips Medical Center. She was an avid reader, accomplished seamstress, church choir member, and an excellent cook.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, baby sister Nancy Reynolds, and her beloved son John Mark Javine.
She is survived by Joe Javine of Barnsdall, her cherished husband of 62 years; her brothers Edward “Ed” Reynolds and wife Beverly “Bev” of Centralia MO and Dale Javine and wife Jane of Barnsdall; her sisters Elaine McPherson and husband Kenneth of Barnsdall and Ronda Blake and husband Gary of Barnsdall; her beloved daughter Dee Anne Javine and fiance Greg Hughes of Sperry; her granddaughters Shannon Crabbe and husband Chris of Dewey and Starla Anderson and husband Nathan of Toano, VA; her great grandchildren Braden and Bailey Crabbe, Alayna, Lucas, and Zachary Jahn, and Hailey, Natalie, and Alexandra Anderson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Barnsdall Freewill Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to the Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund or your favorite charity.
