Praying for your sick child is a no-brainer. Praying for an ill family member is effortless. Praying for the free-course of the gospel message is workaday.

So, how are you at praying for the heart of the meanest terrorist on earth? It’s not so natural and hum-drum is it!

Sure, a good Old Testament prayer from the Book of Psalms asking God to smash the enemy, dash the enemy, grind up the enemy like chaff sounds good for the terrorist, but I talking about the softening of the heart. I am speaking of the miracle of the New Covenant transformation.

For many of us in the free Western world, prayers of petition for blessings roll off the lips with ease.

Prayers for our enemies and their redemption, not so much. Yet, the persecuted church has long discovered this spiritual truth and the shocking peace that comes when we pray as Jesus instructed us.

This spiritual dynamic is life changing, and in time, possibly world changing!

Twisted minds, stone cold hearts, all are in great abundance these days. The world shouts raging hatred and sadistic abuse in an ever-growing human pastime.

Our brothers and sisters in Christ know these topics so well, and their positive God-fearing response sets an example for us all. Instead of hating those who hate us, we can pray in ways that help all people, even the terrorist, the political leaders, the hate-filled atheist.

Your prayers matter! Your voice is heard in the spirit dimension, and when your prayer is the expressed will of Father, it will have an effect.

Please do follow the outstanding examples of the persecuted church and pray for the softening of the hardest hearts around the world!
