George E. Hood “Bo,” age 83, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018, in Shawnee.

George E. Hood “Bo,” age 83, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018, in Shawnee.

He was born on July 11, 1934, in Sulphur to Grady and Hattie (Craine) Hood.

He grew up in Sulphur, the second youngest of six children.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and always loved the sea.

He retired from St. Gregory’s College, where he worked for over 30 years as the physical plant manager.

He was married to Peggy J. Gaines and they had many great years together raising their two daughters. He was also lucky to have a lady friend, Kay Simmons, that he was able to have many adventures with later in life.

He loved his family more than anything, and believed they could do no wrong. He also never met a stranger and loved visiting with neighbors and family. He loved to travel and he always wanted to be on the go of course taking the back roads. He was a long time resident of Earlsboro, OK. He loved country living, taking his daily walks, and caring for his animals.

He was overjoyed to become a great-grandfather and loved his boys dearly, they were his dandies.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Henry and his sisters Celia Sue, Rosa, Mary and Betty.

He is survived by his brother Carl (Pedro), daughter Robin Keener and husband Bob, Lynn Bell and husband Lee, grand-daughters Alisha Owens and husband Jimmy, Brittany Jimenez-Keener and husband David and Chantell Keener, Shannon Cook and Jesse, his great-grandchildren Beau, Asher, Rhett, Diego, Taryn and Ethan, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Saturday, July 14, at 11 a.m. at De Arman’s Clagg Funeral in Sulphur.
