District Attorney Rex Duncan said Monday he has yet to see supplemental reports in connection with a June 25 campaign-sign altercation between the campaign of his opponent, Mike Fisher, and a Republican activist who supported Duncan.

Fisher defeated Duncan in the June 26 Republican primary for District 10 district attorney by a roughly 2-1 margin.

The Osage County Sheriff’s Office investigated the June 25 sign conflict and sought guidance from the state attorney general’s office about where to submit its findings. The attorney general’s office directed the Sheriff’s Office to handle the case in the same manner it would handle any other case of its type.

That meant the Sheriff’s Office should pass its findings to Duncan’s office.

Duncan said in a telephone interview Monday afternoon that he had seen the preliminary report by the Sheriff’s Office, but had not yet seen supplemental reports that were to be developed. Thus, Duncan’s office had not yet reached the point of trying to find a willing district attorney elsewhere in the state to take over the matter and review it.
