Spike Gorr, of Lake Havasu, Arizona, walked away with a broken collarbone and bumps and bruises after his boat did a mid-air flip on Saturday, July 7, during the Southern Drag Boat Association races at Wolf Creek Park. Unofficial reports say Gorr, who was racing in the Pro Modified and Top Alcohol Flat-Jet, was 5.14 seconds into his run, crashing at 150 mph.  The association, now owned by northeast Oklahoma racer Tommy Thompson, will race again Aug. 4 and 5, in Chouteou. Additional coverage of the races may be found inside today's issue of The Grove Sun.
