There was plenty to celebrate and appreciate this season when it came to area girls golf teams.

A total of seven individuals have been named to the 2018 All-Ardmoreite girls golf team, representing five different schools from across the area.

These individuals will be recognized at the 2nd annual Best of the Arbuckles Preps banquet which will take place on May 22nd at the Ardmore Convention Center, where the Girls Golfer of the Year will be announced.

The Plainview Lady Indians, who repeated as Class 4A state champions this season, will be represented on the team by senior Katie Finley along with freshman Reagan Chaney.

Finley, who is going to play college golf at Texas A&M University, finished third this season as an individual at the state championships after winning the state title in 2017.

Chaney had a solid first showing at the state tournament as she finished fourth overall in the individual standings.

Also in class 4A, the Ardmore Lady Tigers are represented on this years team by Katie Long, who was the top finisher for Ardmore at the state tournament in 22nd overall.

There are plenty of talented players representing area 3A schools on the team, including a pair from the state runner-up Lone Grove Lady Horns.

Izzy Lette and Madison Anderson will represent Lone Grove.

Lette finished sixth overall at the 3A state championships, while Anderson also claimed a spot in the top-15 with a 13th place finish in the individual standings.

Dickson’s Maisie Liddell stormed her way to a ninth place finish overall at the state championships, and stormed her way onto the All-Ardmoreite girls golf team this season as well.

Another strong player from the class 3A ranks who landed on the team is Sulphur’s Jordan Goodman, who qualified for the second straight season as an individual for the state tournament.
