Georgia Hall, 87, of Shawnee, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, at her home.

She was born Aug. 17, 1930, to George and Grace Grant in Pekin, Illinois.

Georgia grew up in Pekin and graduated from Pekin Community High School.

She married Vell Hall on November 6, 1962, in Pekin, Illinois. They later moved to Oklahoma City and in 1981 settled in Shawnee.

Georgia was a strong woman of faith. She and Vell were members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oklahoma City and joined St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in 1981.

Georgia was a courageous survivor of the Polio epidemic, diagnosed at age 16. She recovered and lived a long full life in spite of it. Georgia was a positive person who never complained and was known as the Family Rock.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Cornwell; and infant brother.

Georgia is survived by her husband, Vell Hall of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Mike Carter of Oklahoma City; son and daughter-in-law, John and Jennifer Hall of Shawnee; five grandchildren, Nicholas Hall of Shawnee, Madison Smith of Moore, Timmy Perkins of Shawnee, Callie Hall of Shawnee, and Grant Hall of Shawnee; brother, Pat Grant of Glenview, Illinois; sister, Claire Gilmore of Enterprise, Alabama; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, and continue through service time. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Thursday, April 19, at St. Benedict Catholic Church with Father Joseph Schwarz officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
