Coach Joe Gilbert’s Lady Panthers (11-12) surged to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and then held off a fiery rally — highlighted by a grand slam — by Glencoe.

Barnsdall went on to win, 15-6.

In the first inning, Macy Holt clobbered a three-run homer to help power the Lady Panthers to a 4-0 lead.

Jasmine Shores and Kyndal LeFlore also scored on Holt’s dinger.

In the third inning, Shores blasted a three-run homer — with Walker and Kinnley Bloomfield on base — to help Barnsdall pull away.

Kendra Walker added a two-run double and Courtney Berry launched a sacrifice fly in the same inning.

Barnsdall added more runs in the fourth inning, including RBI hits by Brittany Neff, Kendra Walker and Berry.

Bailey Walker finished with three hits, while Shores whittled off two hits and drove in three runs.

Berry added a pair of hits and two runs driven in.

LeFlore lashed three hits and Kendra Walker contributed two doubles and two RBIs.

Khailey Sofian recorded three hits.

Holt, Jaydon Mackey and Neff each bashed one Barnsdall hit.

Shores threw the complete-game victory, with Neff as her catcher.

The slow pitch softball playoffs district pairings have been announced. Barnsdall go on the road for the Class 3A playoffs. They are in a three-team district with Afton (3-8) and host team Fairland (18-4). District tournaments will be held between April 16 and 21.
