Barnsdall improved its record to 8-6 in the past seven days. The Panthers have won four and lost one since March 20.

The Panthers recorded victories over Pawnee, Kellyville, Frontier and Oklahoma Union. They lost to Preston.

Barndall 8, Pawnee 0

Wesley Yarber pitched five shutout innings as the Barnsdall Panthers easily defeated Pawnee, 8-0, on Monday,

Yarber allowed just two hits. He struck out three. Yarber also started on the mound. He didn’t allow a run and gave up just two hits. He struck out three.

Barnsdall scored four in the first and added four in the fourth to win the run-ruled, five-inning game.

Michael Marin went one-for-three at the plate. He scored once and picked up two RBI. Reese Robbins when two-for-two in the game. He scored once and drove in two, Braden Kelley went one-for-two, scoring twice. He also drew a walk.

Kelley started the first with a base on balls. He stole second and reached third on a passed ball. He scored on Michael Marin’s infield single. Joseph Cole was hit by pitch, and Marin moved up to second. A James Cole sacrifice to the pitcher moved Cole and Marin to second and third. Wesley Yarber grounded out to the shortstop, scoring Marin and Cole moves to third. Cole scored on a Robbins double to right.

Preston 9,

Barnsdall 7

Barnsdall held a 7-6 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth. Preston took the lead by scoring three runs in that frame. Preston held Barnsdall scoreless in the top of the seventh to claim a 9-7 victory, and snap the Panthers four-game winning streak.

Michael Marin paced the Barnsdall offense. He went 2-for-3 at the plate. He scored twice and collected two RBIs. Marin also drew a walk. Joseph Cole went 1-for-4, but had two RBIs and scored once.

Joseph Cole started on the mound for Barnsdall. He went 4.2 innings. He struck out nine and issued a walk. He allowed six runs, all of them earned. Braden Kelly came on in relief. He pitched 1.1 innings, giving up three runs, all earned.

Barnsdall scored six runs in the fifth. Keegan Marin started the inning with a single to center. He advanced to second on an error. Reese Robbins reached first when he was hit by a pitch. Christian Minton put down a sacrifice bunt, but reached first on an error. Carson Aushwitz was hit by a pitch to plate K. Marin and keep the bases load. Michael Marin doubled to center to score Robbins and Minton. Jason Cole tripped to center, plating Aushwitz and Marin. Marin stole third and scored on a Wesley Yarber single.

Barnsdall 7, Kellyville 4

Barnsdall picked up its third straight victory Thursday with a 7-4 win over Kellyville. The Panthers jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings. They increased the lead to 7-1 by scoring two runs in the fourth.

Kellyville mounted a 3-run rally in the fourth, but couldn’t get any closer.

Joseph Cole went 2 for 3 at the plate. He scored twice and picked up 2 RBIs. Will Price also went 2 for 3. Joseph Cole, James Cole and Braden Kelly lashed doubles in the game.

Michael Marin started on the mound. He gave up four runs, but only one was earned in 4.1 innings. He struck out eight and walked two. Joseph Cole came in for the last 1.2 innings. He allowed 1 hit, no runs and collected three strikeouts. He also issued a walk.

In the three-run first, Michael Marin walked. He advanced to third on Joseph Cole’s single to left. James Cole hits a line drive that’s misplayed by Kellyville to score Marin and Joseph Cole. James Cole scores from second on a sacrifice bunt and a Kellyville error.

Barnsdall 4,

Frontier 1

Barnsdall broke open a 1-1 game with a two-run fifth, and an insurance run in the sixth to beat Frontier on March 20.

James Cole went two-for-four, including a triple, in the contest. He scored once and picked up two RBIs. Wesley Yarber went the distance on the mound. He allowed one earned run on five hits. He struck out nine and walked four. He also hit a batter.

In the pivotal fifth inning, Joseph Cole reached on an error. James Coles tripled, scoring Joseph Cole. James Cole scored on a Yarber single.

Barnsdall 7,

Oklahoma Union 3

Barnsdall built a seven-run cushion before Oklahoma scored two in the fifth and one in the sixth.

The Panthers scored one in each of the first and second innings. They plated three in the third and two in the fourth.

Michael Marin went three-for-three, including a triple, at the plate. He scored three runs. Joseph Cole, James Cole and Reese Robbins all collected an RBI for the team.
