Two candidates for the Office 3 seat on Pawhuska Public Schools Board of Education will be heading to a run-off election, unofficial results from the State Election Board indicate.
With all eight precincts reporting, current Pawhuska Board of Education Vice President Danny Ferguson will face challenger Scott Laird on an April 3 run-off election ballot for the Office 3 seat. According to the unofficial results, Ferguson received 46 percent of the vote and Laird received just over 41 percent of the vote.
Others in the field of five candidates included Newton Cass, who received 7 percent; Jennifer R. Gray received 4 percent; and Patrick Luey tallied 1 percent of the vote.
Since neither Ferguson or Laird received over 50 percent of the vote, they will face each other again on April 3.
Below is the vote total for Office 3 on the Pawhuska Board of Education with all precincts reporting:Danny Ferguson (i), 373 votes, 46.45 percent Scott Laird, 334 votes, 41.59 percent Newton Cass, 51 votes, 6.97 percent Jennifer R. Gray, 32 votes, 3.99 percent Patrick Luey, 8 votes, 1.00 percent
