James “Jim” William Rice passed from this life Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, Mo. He was 81.
Jim was born May 8, 1936 in Wichita Falls, Texas to James Leon and Opal (Gregory) Rice. He had lived in Commerce for seven years moving from Arkansas City, Kan. He worked for Grieg Brothers in Arkansas City, Kan. for many years. He was a member of the Bethany Christian Church in Miami, Okla.
He was preceded in death by a son Scott Glover, his parents and a brother Billy Pollock.
JIm married Eva (Stephenson) Rice December 21, 1968 and she survives of the home. Additional survivors include six sons James Rice of Dallas, Texas, Adam Rice of Kansas City, Mo., Mark Rice of Shidler, Okla., Jerry Glover of Pittsburg, Kan., Stephen Glover of Commerce, Okla. and David Glover of St. Paul, MN, three daughters Connie Casstellanos of Joplin, Mo., Christine Patrick of Miami, Okla. and Kymberly Wright of Commerce, Okla., two sisters Marilyn Zimmerman of Tucson, Ariz. and Jerri Lynn Ernst of Tucson, Ariz., 26 Grandchildren, 23 great grandchildchildren and two great great grandchildren.
No services have been planned at this time. Arrangement has been placed in the care of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, Okla.
