Allen N. Blay of Miami passed away at his home on Sunday, January 7, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was fifty-nine. Allen was born on April 14, 1958 in Barton, Vt. to Albert and Jeanine (Couture) Blay. Mr. Blay was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Egypt, Alaska, Spain and Germany to name a few. Allen was an electrician by trade. For the past seventeen and a half years he worked as an Ammonia and Refrigeration Tech at General Mills in Joplin. Mr. Blay was a history nut; he loved the Civil War and World War II. Some of his hobbies included collecting pennies, playing computer games and flight simulators, metal detecting and watching the history channel. Allen’s dad Albert Blay preceded him in passing.

Survivors include his wife of almost twenty years Kathy Blay of the home, his daughter who was his pride and joy Sarah Beth Blay of the home, a brother Michael Blay of Las Vegas, Nev., two sisters Carolyn Theresa of Olio Newport, N.C. and Darlene Maxham of Allen, Texas his special nieces Jenny Lee McPartlan of Lancaster, N.Y. and Abigail Christina Maxham of Allen, Texas, Along with his many friends and other relatives.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.

His Celebration of Life Service will be on Thursday, January 12, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Cooper Memorial Chapel in Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami with Reverend Herb Young officiating.

The family has ask that in lieu of flowers to please send memorial contributions to Arvest Bank in Miami where the family has set up a scholarship fund for Allen’s pride and joy for college.
