Nearly 40 entries lit up downtown Pawhuska on Saturday night as the annual Parade of Lights launched the holiday season.

This year’s grand marshal was John Reber, a longtime Pawhuska resident. The retired teacher is often found downtown greeting visitors or helping out at Chamber of Commerce events.

The parade was sponsored by the Pawhuska Chamber of Commerce and Tri County Tech. It rolled down Kihekah and turned east on Main Street. This year’s theme was “The Nutcracker.”

This year’s winners were:

Profit division

First: American Heritage Bank

Second: Sister’s Attic

Third: Black Gold Motel

Non-profit division

First: Dancemaker Academy

Second: Pawhuska Head Start

Third: Giovanne Soliano family.

Pawhuska Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Joni Nash said she thanked Tri County Tech, all those who entered the parade and the volunteers.

“This year was absolutely amazing,” Nash said in a Facebook Live video posted on the Chamber’s Facebook page.
