BARNSDALL — Wins have proven elusive this season for the Pawhuska High School softball team.

But, on Monday, the Lady Huskies harvested a major victory by turning back county rival Barnsdall, 7-4.

Pawhuska erupted for four runs in the seventh inning and held on.

Lauren Garrett handled pitching duties, with Star Sweeden as her catcher for Pawhuska.

For Barnsdall, Kinnley Bloomfield pitched and Jasmine Shores caught.

Pawhuska never trailed.

The Lady Huskies hammered out in the first inning to a 2-0 lead.

Barnsdall kept clawing and got within a run, 3-2, in the fifth frame.

But, Pawhuska’s rousing uprising in the seventh inning proved to be too much for Barnsdall to overcome.

For Barnsdall, Khailey Sofian ripped three hits while Bailey Walker, Shores and Jordan Mackey contributed one apiece.

Sofian drove in a pair of runs.

Kyleigh Riebel ripped two hits to help lead the Lady Huskies.

Arianna Soliano also peppered a pair of hits.

T. McCartney drove in two runs.

Taylor topped Pawhuska with three RBIs, while Reibel added one.
