Ronald Stanley Minion was born in Newark, New Jersey, on Feb. 2, 1941, and died Aug. 9, 2017, at home after a long illness.

Ronald lived at Bonnie Brae Boys’ Farm, Millington, New Jersey, from the age of 12, graduating from Bernards High School of Bernardsville, New Jersey.

He served in the U.S. Navy for 21 years, worked at the Pentagon as well as serving on the USS Saratoga. He retired after 23 years from Tinker AFB. He believed that freedom came with a price and he served with pride.

Ronald was a man who loved his family with all his heart. His love didn’t stop there but was extended over to his friends. He loved volunteering, whether it was playing Santa at a family function or dressing up in a silly costume while he was volunteering or Heartland Hospice, he knew that a smile or a laugh could change the outcome of someone's day; it brought him such joy.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Mary Haffey Minion and son Daniel Minion of Shawnee, a son by a previous marriage, Kevin Minion of Clintwood, Virginia, a sister, Maureen Melton of Holmen, Wisconsin, and a brother, Gary and Ellie Minion of West Columbia, South Carolina, in addition to many nieces and nephews.

Ronald was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Ethel Buckley and Harry W. Minion, his father Harry S. Minion and mother Mary Buelow (Minion) Bataille, all of Newark, New Jersey.
