DEPARTMENT HOSTS BACK TO SCHOOL EVENT
Be part of the Thunderbolt Experience at the Back to School Event at Osage County Health Department from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 31 at 1115 E. 15th St. in Pawhuska. The OG&E Thunderbolt is a traveling exhibit vehicle that serves as an interactive Thunder Basketball experience. It is stocked with multiple fan interactive opportunities for all ages including trivia, a branded locker for photo opportunities, player measure ups, and a photo booth that will allow you to instantly share pictures.
Bring a child’s immunization record and shots can be provided if needed. Every student who provides an up-to-date shot record, or who receives immunizations at the event, will be entered into a drawing for great prizes including a basketball goal, Thunder-bag and basketballs!
‘ANNIE’ ON TAP IN BARTLESVILLE
Children’s Musical Theatre will be presenting “Annie” on July 20-23 on the main stage of the Bartlesville Community Center. Tickets are on sale through the Bartlesvillecommunitycenter.com or through the ticket office. Show times will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Family passes and group rates are available.
SUPPLIES OFFERED TO PAWHUSKA
For the 13th consecutive year, free school supplies will be offered to all students enrolled in Pawhuska schools. Supplies will be pre-assembled according to grade. Distribution will be held at the Methodist Church’s Family Life Center, 621 Leahy in Pawhuska. Distribution dates and time will be announced later.
The free school supply program is a citywide project sponsored by the Pawhuska First United Methodist Church.
Donations of money and supplies are being accepted, and may be dropped off at the Methodist Church office, 621 Leahy, weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. For more information, contact Sherry Williams at 918-287-3438 or Linda Boone at 918-287-3711.
SCULPTURE EXHIBIT OPEN AT ART
Preserving Arts in the Osage is hosting the Oklahoma Sculpture Society Statewide Show. “Sculpture in the Osage” is now open and will run through Aug. 26 at Ole No. 1 Firehouse Art Center in historic downtown Pawhuska. The juried exhibition will highlight the work of members of the Oklahoma Sculpture Society. Hours for the show and sale will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday each week.
The Oklahoma Sculpture Society is a statewide organization working to improve their skills and highlight the work of Oklahoma Artists. Their annual show is an opportunity for the public to view and purchase these exceptional works of art.
Preserving Arts in the Osage is a non-profit focused on bringing the arts alive in Osage County, arts education and organizational collaborations that encourage the growth of the community.
