Less than three weeks remain until the end of the Pawhuska Public Schools’ 2016-17 academic year.

The end-of-school-year events culminate with Pawhuska High School’s 2017 Commencement Ceremonies on Friday, May 19.

Monday, the city of Pawhuska’s Honorary Mayor and Vice Mayor Luncheon was held at the Communuty Center.

The Honorary Mayor, Pawhuska High School Class of 2017 Valedictorian Madelyn Priest attended the luncheon, as well as related events later in the day.

Tristen Tucker, the 2017 salutatorian, was unable to attend, as he was competing with the PHS Huskies team at the Regional track meet in Okemah.

Baccalaureate exercises will be conducted May 14.

Pawhuska High School’s annual awards assembly begins at 9 a.m. May 15. The Pawhuska Public School District’s Val-Sal Dinner is scheduled at 6 p.m. that evening.

The past year’s athletic achievements will be recognized at the annual Huskies Sports Banquet, which is planned May 16 at the Elks Lodge.

SENIOR BREAKFAST EVENT

Pawhuska Senior Parents are selling all-access passes to Pawhuska Public Schools as a fundraising project for the upcoming senior breakfast.

The access tickets for one person are $5 and access-for-two tickets cost $8. These all-access passes are for the 2017-2018 Huskies/Lady Husdkies sports season and will be good for all home football, basketball, wrestling and baseball games. A drawing will be held May 15.

SCHOOL-RELATED FUNCTION

A Pawhuska Huskies Golf Classic is scheduled for May 20 at Pawhuska Golf & Country Club.

All proceeds will go toward the purchase equipment for the new, state-of-the-art weight training facility adjacent to Pawhuska High School’s Ormand Beach Stadium.

The tourney is to begin with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. There will be $5 mulligans and raffle tickets, as well as closest to the pin contests. A hole in one will win a car.
