The PHS baseball team headed into Thursday’s 2A District showdown off consecutive home losses Monday and Tuesday.

On Monday, the Huskies fell, 8-1, to Tonkawa. PHS starter Caleb Bruce held the visitors scoreless through the first three innings. Errors paved the way for two Buc runs in the fourth inning and they added three more in the seventh.

Bruce went 2-for-4 at the plate and knocked in the lone Huskie run. Payton McCarty and Nick Edwards also had hits.

In Tuesday’s regular-season finale, PHS lost, 12-4, against Dewey. The Doggers were 19-8 and ranked No. 17 in 3A.
