Pierre M. Poweska
On January 16, 2017, Pierre left this world to enter God’s Kingdom after a long illness in Tulsa.
Pierre was born December 12, 1942 in Pontault-Combault, France.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Francesca Poweska and brothers John and Joseph Poweska.
At a young age, his family moved to Delhi, Ontario Canada, where Pierre excelled in hockey and football. In 1964 Pierre came to the University of Tulsa and played in two Bluebonnet Bowls. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in
petroleum marketing at T.U. in 1968.
In 1969 Pierre and Donna Hartness Poweska were married. Pierre began his career at Manpower Inc. in Tulsa. A few years later he became a district manager for Kerr-McGee in Tulsa and Bartlesville. Later moving to Pawhuska, Pierre was the industrial developer for the Osage Nation. Pierre was also an industrial developer in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Pierre was an outdoorsman
and enjoyed hunting, fishing and eating seafood. He was also fluent in French, Polish and English.
Pierre is survived by one daughter, Catherine Russell and her husband, Michael and one grandson, Parker in Tokyo, Japan/Los Angeles, California.
His son, Mark Gaddie and two granddaughters, Lauren and Erica, in Meridian, Mississippi.
His nephew Richard Poweska and cousins in Delhi, Ontario Canada.
A Memory Mass of Pierre Poweska will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church in Pawhuska on Saturday, January, 21, 2017 at 12:00.
Pierre will be laid to rest in Delhi, Ontario Canada.
