The 28th-annual PHS honors banquet is to be held Monday, March 6, at Pawhuska Elks Lodge, according to Paula Rabb, a member of the committee planning the local event. Starting time for the banquet is 6:30 p.m.

A Western-oriented theme — “2017 Branded the Best” — has been selected for the event.

State Sen. Eddie Fields of Wynona will be guest speaker.

Entertainment for the banquet will be provided by performers from Dance Maker Academy.

A ticket for the banquet will cost $8, which pays for admission and cost of the meal, organizers said. The tickets will be available in February, she added.

Each year, the honors banquet gives recognition to the academic achievements of freshman, sophomore, junior and senior students who are ranked in the top 10 percent of their respective PHS classes.
