Pawhuska Mixed Martial Arts fighter Chance “Black Eagle” Rencountre is scheduled to be back in the ring Jan. 27, at the Kansas Star Arena near Wichita.


Rencountre — who is called “Black Eagle” in accordance with his native Osage heritage — has compiled an 8-2 record as a professional. The former Pawhuska High School and collegiate wrestler was undefeated in his MMA amateur career.


Rencountre’s welterweight bout versus Jake Lindsay (11-5) is to be part of a Bellator 171 card with an MMA main event between lightweight contenders Melvin Guillard and Chidi Njokuani.


Other feature fights will pit female flyweights (Jessica Middleton and Alice Yauger), featherweights A.J. McKee versus Brandon Phillips, and Kansas-favorite lightweight Dave Rickels against Aaron Derrow.


The 10-bout preliminary card will includes fighting between heavyweights, middleweights, welterweights, featherweights and bantamweights, plus a flyweight women’s bout.


Tickets for Bellator 171 (which is listed as an all-ages event) start at $24. Kansas Star Arena is located in Mulvane, Kan. The Jan. 27 MMA fights will air live, beginning at 8 p.m., on Spike TV.
