CANDIDATES’ FORUM SET
A Candidates’ Forum is going to be held Thursday evening at the Pawhuska Community Center, 520 Lynn Ave.
The public is invited to meet the candidates at 6:45 p.m. before the forum begins at 7 p.m. Pawhuska Chamber of Commerce is hosting the event.

The Mikey Lynn Memorial Fundraiser 2016 is to be held Saturday at the Lodge at Taylor Ranch, located five miles south of Pawhuska on Highway 99.
Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. for the Mikey Mile Fun Run and the 5K Cross Country Run. There is no entry fee for the Fun Run. Cost for entering the 5K event is $25. Pre-registrations can be made by calling 859-556-0618.
The Fun Run begins at 9:30 a.m. and the competitive event starts at 10. Race awards will be presented around 11 a.m.
Entry for the fundraising event’s disc golf tournament costs $10 per person. The tourney starts at 2 p.m. For more information, call 918-287-7881.
A Cajun Boil Dinner starts at 5 p.m. and the cost is $15 per person. Call 918-914-1085.

Live music is to be provided by the Stormy Weather Band.
Pawhuska Elks Lodge will hold its annual Halloween Carnival from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27.
On Saturday, the Constantine Theater, 110 W. Main, is showing the movie “Goosebumps.” Admission is $2 for the show, which is set for a 7 p.m. start.
Downtown businesses will host a Halloween Trick or Treat on Monday. Between 5-6 p.m., participating merchants will hand out candy to children who are dressed in Halloween costumes.
An Historical Ghost Tour is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Constantine Theater, 110 W. Main. Cost is $5 per person.
BARRELS BASH OCT. 30
Pawhuska Indoor Arena will be the site of a Halloween Roping Bash on Sunday.
Books open at 1 p.m. and the roping begins at 2. A saddle will be awarded to the high-point roper of the day.
There will be #13 Slide, enter 1 draw 2/$120 per entry (2 add-on team per entry $40/man), and #10&8, enter 1 draw 2/$75 per entry (2 add-on team per entry $25/man).

The monthly auction and consignment sale begins at 6:01 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the Osage County Fairgrounds’ Ag Building.

SPECIAL BARRELS BENEFIT
The second-annual “Run For Special Needs” barrel race event will be held Saturday, Nov. 5, at Osage County Fairgrounds’ Brantley Indoor Arena.
Exhibitions are scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon. Open races start at 1 p.m. An adult division will have $2,500 added with a progressive payout and buckles for first-place finishers in each division. The under-15 competition has $250 added, with equal payout and prizes to division winners.
There are to be 150 tickets sold at $4 apiece or three for $10.

ARTS COUNCIL DRAWING
Constantine Arts Council board members are still selling $10 chances for a December drawing on an electric-powered Izip Low Step bike, which (with accessories) has a retail value of $1,600.
