Long ago I was intrigued by the television show, The Twilight Zone. I was also mesmerized by the lilt of the narrator’s dialogue. Some pretty "head-scratching" things occurred to those living in the Twilight Zone. (Insert the theme song by humming softly as you continue to read.)
Lately, I’ve found myself more than perplexed and living in a zone all my own. Someone has stolen some time out of my once twenty-four hour days and has somehow managed to click a few days off my calendar. Heck, we still have left-overs tucked away in our freezer from Thanksgiving and I am pretty sure Thanksgiving was just a few days ago……wasn’t it?
Well, if by some Twilight Zone time I do manage to locate any of my missing moments, I plan to make a batch of Winter Wonderland, grab a snuggly throw and curl up with a really good book. Yes, that shall be my grand plan. I’m will also mark my calendar and "Save the Date" as the 12th of Never.
Winter Wonderland Snick-Snack
1 box Crispix, ½ box golden raisins, ½ bag milk chocolate chips, (or you may use semi-sweet), ½ bag pretzel sticks, ½ cup chopped walnuts, as many pecan halves as you desire, and toss in a few almonds. Stir well to mix. Melt one package of white almond bark and pour over all. Stir until everything is well coated and looks like a yummy winter wonderland. Spread out on waxed paper and let set until the mixture hardens.
