Wear your finest 1920s threads for an evening at the swankiest joint in town (2549 Elks Lodge Drive). The event is none other than the Pawhuska Chamber of Commerce’s 14th annual Gala 2017.
It is the Chamber’s largest fundraiser of the year. Doors open a 5:30 pm.
“So much excitement has been generated about Pawhuska’s downtown renovation,” said Chamber Executive Director Joni Nash. “Because of the renewed birth of Pawhuska’s historic downtown, the Gala committee thought it would be fun to return to the heyday of the roaring 1920s. Our imagination was further encouraged when hints of a speakeasy surfaced during the Mercantile’s renovations. This should be a great night of fun where the guys can suit up and the girls can dress to kill!”
Chief Brian Lookout of The Ah Tha Tse will be catering prime rib with all the trimmings. Live music will be provided by the Mark Chamberlin Band. A number of live and silent auction items will be available for eager bidders.
Chamber Secretary Reba Bueno said it takes a lot of dedicated volunteers to create such a spectacular event. She wanted to express appreciation to committee members, Stephanie Priest, Kirk Hamilton, Jourdan Foran, Kadie Waddle, Christi McNeil, Cindy Tillman, Debbie Reed, Terry Loftis, Elizabeth Hembree, Lauren Garnett, Marilyn Atterberry and Joni Nash.
“We also have outstanding sponsorship,” said Bueno. “These include Blue Sky Bank, Wendy Drummond Law, Pawhuska Abstract & Title Company, PW Mercantile, Z7bar Ranch, Pawhuska Dental, Bank of Pawhuska, Pawhuska Hospital, Osage Casino, Lorec Ranch, JL & Associates, Tri County Tech, Cross Timbers Land, Weigants Pharmacy, Central National Bank, Floyd Law Firm, Sooner Construction, Enbridge and Cariola Cattle Company.”
Nash added, “The Chamber, as a whole, is so grateful to our sponsors, volunteer committee and everyone that has donated items for this year’s event.”
Some of the auction items include a luxurious Argentina dove hunt for four, Lorec Ranch custom leather chair, catfish fry with TV celebrity Marion Kincaid, a $10,000 Smile from Pawhuska Denta, South African Safari and much much more.
A limited number of reservations were still available Tuesday on a first serve basis. Reservations are $50 per person. A donation of $600 reserves a table for eight. For information or questions, please call 918-287-1208.
